Iona L. Grandone, 95, of Staunton, Ill., died on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023, at Staunton Health & Rehab Center in Staunton. She was born Sept. 12, 1927, in White Heath, the daughter of the late Roy and Opal (Hickman) Vermillion.

Iona was a homemaker and a member of Worden United Methodist Church of Worden.

She is survived by a daughter, Ramona (Lyndall) Kleeman of Freeburg; a son, Charles (Kathy) Cunningham of Farmington, N.M .; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Nancy and Nina; one son, Carl; a great-grandson, Kyle; and a brother, Roscoe.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with Pastor Sue Busler officiating.Burial was in Monticello Township Cemetery in Monticello.
