Softball Bulldogs add wins

 


The Staunton High School Lady Bulldogs softball team added two wins to their season record last week defeating both Greenfield/Northwestern and Bunker Hill.

On May 10, the girls defeated Greenfield 11-0 in a 5-inning game. Taylor Nolan had 3 hits including a triple and a home run, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs.

Evin Frank scored 3 runs and had 3 hits including a double and 1 RBI.

Kylie Lucykow also had 3 hits, 2 RBIs and scored 1 run. Feldman also had 2 RBIs. Lilly Bandy and Taylor Seelbach both had 1 hit and 1 RBI. Other runs were scored by Lilly Troeckler, Ele Feldmann, and Korryn Keehner (1 ea.); Samantha Anderson (2).

Gianna Bianco pitched 6 innings in the shut-out for Staunton. She faced 20 batters, struck out 6, walked none, and gave up 2 hits.

On May 11, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Bunker Hill 8-5.

BH ...1 - 1 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 3 = 5

Feldmann had 3 hits including a double and a triple, scored 1 run and had 3 RBIs. Lucykow had 3 hits including a double, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs. Nolan had 2 hits and scored 3 runs. Taylor Seelbach had 1 hit and 2 RBIs.Bandy, Frank and Keehner each had 1 hit; Frank and Keehner both scored 1 run.


Lucykow pitched 3 innings for Staunton. She faced 16 batters, struck out 4, walked 3, gave up 3 runs and 4 hits. Feldmann pitched 4 innings, faced 20 batters, struck out 6, walked 7, gave up 2 runs (1 earned) on 0 hits.

Following the Bunker Hill win, the Lady Bulldogs had a 17-8 season record.
