7th Grade Terriers are second in State

Terriers a at State The 7th grade Staunton Junior High volleyball team achieved second place in the Class 3A State Tournament on Saturday. The girls beat Peru-Parkside on Friday then Pleasant Plains in the semifinal before losing to Eureka in the state championship game.

The Staunton 7th grade Lady Terriers volleyball team has won 2nd place in the State of Illinois.

After winning their sectional title, the girls traveled to Warrensburg - Latham for 3A State tournament competition.

In their first round on Friday evening, March 10, the Lady Terriers defeated Peru Parkside in two sets, 25-18 and 25-16.

This win advanced the girls to the 3A semifinals. In the semi -final round, Staunton was able to defeat Pleasant Plains in two sets - 25-18 and 25-19. The win over Pleasant Plains advanced the Terriers into the championship round where they would face Eureka.
