The Staunton Board of Education is proposing a tax levy to meet life safety issues at the schools.

County Board Chairman Andrew Manar outlined financial cuts for the county to take to help with finances since the closing of the mines within the county.

The school board asked for financial figures on placing a new all-weather track around the current football field.

Destiny’s restaurant opened on Main Street in the former building of Sisters restaurant.
