Irene Ackers (94) of Houston, Texas, formerly of Staunton, died Jan. 6 in Houston.

Edward Earl DeMann (56) of Staunton died Dec. 13 at Community Memorial Hospital.

The Staunton School District learned that the county clerk disagrees with them on the amount of taxes owed through an error at the county office. The discrepancy is $36,048.14.

Maggie Meyer of Dow and Craig McCalla of New Douglas were married on Sept. 22, 2007, in Hamel.
