Staunton Star - Times - Published in the Interest of the Staunton Community for Over 143 Years

The new steeple for First Methodist Church in Staunton was hoisted into place on Monday, Aug. 29, under the supervision of Opel Construction Co. of Worden. The crane was provided by Ernest Berg of Staunton. The steeple was part of a remodeling project. In addition to the steeple, the church added a new front entrance and foyer covered with brick veneer. The upper portion of the steeple is covered with copper sheeting that presented an imposing appearance.
