Lynn and Nancy have two children and four grandchildren. They are members of St. Michael's Church.

Nomination letters told of their involvement in numerous community projects and their willingness to lend a helping hand. They have been especially involved in the beautification of Duda Park by lighting, cleaning and upgrading the landscaping, planting and taking care of the upkeep of plants and flowers.

Lynn was also able to assist in the electronic entry system to the city clerk building and has helped with various tasks at the community center. He also helped initiate meetings for the community in the community center space.

The nominations can be summed up with this statement from one of the letters, "They strive to make Staunton a better place to live and work. They are so deserving of this award."
