The grand opening of His Service Station took place Nov. 3. The thrift store was located at 705 W. Pearl.

Denise Hemphill, Terry Odorizzi and Wayne Bruhn Jr. were elected to the Staunton School Board.

The Bulldogs advanced in the State Playoffs by defeating Red Hill and will play DuQuoin on Nov. 8.

Darla Sievers and Steve Murray were married Nov. 29, 1996, in Litchfield.

Debra Sievers and John Futrell were married March 22 in Decatur.

Laura Windisch and Dale Baugh were married July 4 at Trinity Baptist Church in Gillespie.

Roy and Ruth (Roehl) Whitehouse celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 11.

Larry and Patricia Grabruck celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Nov. 4.

A daughter was born to Michael and Debra (Johnson) Bekeske on Oct. 27 at Christian Northwest Hospital.

A daughter was born to Scott and Christine Horstmeyer of Staunton on Oct. 29 at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

Lily V. Meyers (84) of Livingston died Nov. 4 at Community Memorial Hospital.

Betty (Dohm) Fox of East Orleans, Mass., formerly of Staunton, died Oct. 30.

Maynard L. Fath (84) of Springfield and formerly of Hillsboro died Nov. 1 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Mabel Cardella Hemann (85) of New Douglas died Oct. 29 at Litchfield Health Care Center.

Margaret S. Honerkamp (88) of Staunton died Oct. 29 at Community Memorial Hospital.

The Staunton medical building was dedicated Sunday as the Patrick B. Heise Building.

Staunton resident Bart Hassard was named Macoupin County chief deputy.
