Girl Scout astronomy event will be open to public

The Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois Astronomy club is celebrating the James Webb telescope. On Saturday, Oct. 22, they will be hosting an event from 6-8 p.m. at Ayers Field Station and White Environmental Center located on Ayers Rd. in Greenville.

There will be a presentation on James Webb and its mission, interactive demonstrations, hands-on activities, and at the end of the night the River Bend Astronomy Club will be helping them out with viewing. Complimentary James Webb materials will be available.

Refreshments will be served. This event is open to all so even if you aren’t a scout, you are welcome to join them. They hope to see you there.
