October events at Worden Public Library

October 12, 2022

The Worden Public Library District has something for everyone in October. We will again be part of the annual Illinois Heartland Library System Crawl. People who participate in the Crawl go to as many libraries as they can, getting their passports stamped as they go. Individual libraries often offer small gifts to those who visit, with a larger prize to someone from their own library. This year, the Worden Library will be awarding a $25 gift certificate from Books-A-Million in Edwardsville to one of our participating patrons. Over 100 libraries throughout central and southern Illinois, including the Worden Public Library, the Staunton Public Library, and the Edwardsville Public Library, will be part of the Crawl, which lasts from Oct. 1-31. If you want to get involved, visit your local library, obtain a passport with a list of all the libraries in this year’s Crawl, and start traveling around the Heartland System.

We will also have our Halloween Children’s Program at the library on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m. There will be a Halloween story or two, along with a related craft. The program will conclude with refreshments. Each child who attends will also receive a bag with Halloween prizes and treats. Children are welcome to come in costume if they like.
