A single-vehicle fatal traffic crash resulted in DUI and driving too fast for conditions charges for the driver, Daniel Adams, age 34, of Gillespie. His passenger, a 59-year-old male from Witt, was pronounced deceased on scene.

Illinois State Police District 18 responded to the crash that happened on Friday, July 22, at approximately 7:25 p.m. The location was Illinois Route 16 approximately one-fourth mile south of South 5th Street in Witt, Montgomery County.
