Staunton Senior Citizens met

March 16, 2022

On March 3, president Gerry Cook called the meeting to order and the Lord’s Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance were said. There were 25 members in attendance and all were so glad to be together again since both of February’s meetings were canceled due to the weather.

The secretary and treasurer reports were both read and approved. There was no old or new business to discuss.

We honored the February birthday members, Dennis and Bev Williams and JoAnn Brakhane , with singing Happy Birthday and giving them a free bingo card. All members wearing green or something pertaining to St. Patrick’s day at the next meeting will get a free bingo card.

The attendance prize winners were Marilyn Willows and Bev Williams. Pot of Silver winners Cheryl Moore and Ruby Hering. The Glenwood prizes were won by Gaylene Ocepek and Dennis Williams. Donated prizes went to Mary Fritz, Mary Lentz, Linda Pike, Adelle Kinnikin, Judy Hampton and Del Hosto.

The meeting was adjourned and everyone enjoyed playing bingo. The cover-all pot was for $30, and there were four winners giving them all $7.50 each. Leslie said that is something that has never happened since she has been in charge.

The next meeting will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Staunton, 225 S. Laurel St., starting at 1 p.m. on March 17, St. Patrick’s Day. All seniors in the area are invited to join in on the fun.

Secretary, Judy Hampton
