July at the Worden Public Library

 


The Worden Library’s summer program for children, “Find Your Voice,” will start on Saturday, July 29, at 10 a.m., and continue for the next three Saturdays.

The first featured book, Caps for Sale, is the amusing tale of a man who sells caps that he balances precariously on his head. He pauses in his travels to sleep, only to discover when he wakes that his hats are now being worn by a troop of monkeys sitting in a tree over his head. Esphyr Slobikina was a modernist artist when she conceived this story, which has become a children’s classic. It’s clever and appeals to a child...
