Sharyn Kay Kline, 82, of Spring, Texas, formerly of Hamel, Ill., died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, March 6, 2023, at her home. Sharyn was born March 5, 1941, in New Douglas, Ill., a daughter of Eugene and Delsie (Bassett) Seeger. She married Robert Kline on June 15, 1958. They had two daughters which they raised in Hamel.

Sharyn received a degree in education from SIU-Edwardsville in 1976. She briefly did some substitute teaching, but eventually settled on a career with the U.S. Postal Service. She retired from the Postal Service in 2000 and enjoyed 23 years of retirement with her husband of 64 years. Sharyn enjoyed going on cruises, spending time with friends and family, going to her grandchildren's events, reading, doing puzzles/word games, and listening to music. Sharyn and Robert moved to Spring, Texas, in 2013 to be closer to family. There she was a member of Champion Forest Baptist Church.


Sharyn is survived by her husband, Robert Kline; daughters, Robin (Val) Phelps, Kristi (Carlos) Gonzalez; grandchildren, Alexandra and Gabriella Gonzalez; sister-in-law, Candace Oettel; brother-in-law, Donald Kline; sister, Linda (Nelson) Bentlage; nieces and nephews, Jerry (Rose) Kline, Tammy Kline, Joseph Oettel, Jon (Sheila) Oettel, Steven (Gay) Bentlage, Dennis (Angie) Bentlage, Kevin (Angie) Bentlage; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Delsie Seeger; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Clifford and Alberta Kline; special aunt, Helen Cory; sister-in-law, Arlene Kline; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Oettel.
