Nancy Pearl Potter, 90, of New Douglas, Ill., passed away on Nov. 11, 2022, at her son's house surrounded by her children. She was born September 12, 1932, in Cado, Okla., to Matthew "Pete" and Mattie (Vincent) Hogan. She was married to Clifford Potter of St. Louis on Aug. 1, 1953, in Durant, Okla., and he passed away on March 2, 1989.

Nancy was employed as a CNA with Heritage Health in Staunton for many years. She was also a member of the New Douglas Senior's club, attended New Douglas Baptist church, enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to bake cookies and play games with her grandchildren. Nancy also enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends, especially her sisters. When the sisters all got together you can bet there was a game of Cut Throat Rummy going on and snacks were coming out! When Nancy wasn't spending time with family she was taking care of all her friends. If there was someone not feeling good or had just lost a spouse you could be sure she was going to be there in any way she could, to help.

Nancy is survived by her three children, son Steve and Patty Potter of Worden, son John and Karen Potter of Staunton, and daughter Mollie and Tony Langendorf, of New Douglas; seven grandchildren, aka "Sugaboog's" Jake and Tyler Potter, Sean Potter and fiancé Jennifer, Christian Potter, Samantha and Nathan Hopkins, Emily and Vance Myers, Tyler Langendorf, and Morgan Langendorf; four great-grandchildren, Dexter, Penny, and Silas Potter, and Nora Hopkins; two sisters, Patsy "Pat" Wren and Mary Bryant, both of Durant, Okla .; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford Potter; her brothers, J.G. Hogan, Billy Hogan, Ray Hogan, and John D. Hogan; and sister, Kay Naranjo.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, at New Hope Baptist Church in Worden. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. on Friday at the church with Pastor John Heater officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Edwardsville.
