Thursday, Jan. 2, 1975 -- FORMER RESIDENT FACES BURGLAR -- Howard Mull, a custodian at Fairview School, 2200 Ridgety Ave., Springfield, told police there that at about 7:15 p.m. he confronted a burglar in the office of the school just prior to his phone call to police. Mull told officers he had been called to the school by the answering service which told him the burglar alarm was ringing in the office.

When Mull arrived at the scene reports said he confronted the intruder in his office and a scuffle ensued. The burglar got away, Mull said, and nothing was reported missing from the school....
