The ministerial alliance of Staunton thrift store opens this week.

A Junior Optimist Club was organized with 86 members. The sponsor is Patrick Shelton.

A daughter was born to Matt and Lara Johnson of Glen Carbon on Sept. 21.

Walter and Adele Knackstedt of Worden celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 28.

Herman Beyer Jr. (93) of Staunton died Sept. 28 at Community Memorial Hospital.

Lunita Henrietta Grosenheider (76) of Mt. Olive died Sept. 26 at her home.

John Raspica Jr. (75) of Staunton died Sept. 29 at Community Memorial Hospital.

Katharine Volle and David Trost were voted the 2007 SHS Homecoming Queen and King.

The River of Joy television studio opened in Staunton.

A son was born to Samantha Page of Litchfield and Kyle Riva of Staunton on Sept. 22.
