It's time to register for chili cook-off

The Staunton Chamber of Commerce has been busy preparing for their chili cook-off to be held at Duda Park on Saturday, Oct. 22.
The cook-off is open to anyone who thinks their chili recipe is the very best – or at least better than most. There is a $25 entry fee for each chili entered in the competition.
All contestants must be pre-registered and entry fees paid by Oct. 17. Registration on the day of the event is not permitted.
The entry fee may be paid by cash or check made out to Staunton Chamber of Commerce.
The schedule for the day begins early. Space will be assigned on first come - first serve basis. You are responsible for your own tent, all your own supplies including propane or charcoal (no electric cookers allowed) and set up begins at 8 a.m. There will be a cooks’ meeting at 8:45 a.m. and cooking begins at 9 a.m.
Awards will be announced at 3 p.m. and cleanup must be completed by 4 p.m. There will be cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and the people’s choice award plus a prize for best decorated tent.

Remember – registration must be completed by Oct. 17.
