Volleyball girls are 9-4 overall

1-0 in conference

As of Sept. 9, the Staunton High School girls volleyball team held an impressive 9-4 season record and were 1-0 in conference play.

Last weekend, (Sept. 2 & 3) the girls were in a tournament and won three of their four matches.

They defeated Metro 2-0 before losing to O'Fallon 0-2, then defeated Glenwood 2-1 and Bloomington 2-0.

On Sept. 6 the girls were home vs. Williamsville. After losing the first set 26-24, the Lady Bulldogs came back and won the next two 26-19 and 25-22 to claim the 2-1 match win.

Sept. 8 the girls played at home and defeated Southwestern in two sets 25-9 and 25-19.

This week the girls are on the road as they play at Breese Mater Di on Sept. 13, and Pana on Sept. 15. They are at Vandalia on Sept. 22, then at Carlinville Sept. 29, then home vs. Hillsboro on Oct. 6.

On Saturday, Oct. 8, the girls will play in and host the Macoupin County Tournament being held this year at Staunton. We will publish those pairings as soon as they become available.
