Broc Best had his personal best round at Timber Lakes on Monday, Aug. 15, sinking 3 birdies and leading the Staunton team to a 166 - 211 win over Gillespie. Broc was match medalist with his round of 34 on the par 36 course.

Other Staunton team scores were by Preston Denney 38, Adam Overby 46 and Blake Moore 48. Also playing, Luke DeWitt and Jack Gagnon each scored a 49, Bryce Coalson and Luke Meyer.

Bryon Jubelt was team medalist for Gillespie with his round of 47. Fegley 51, Kellebrew 54 and Helmkamp 59 rounded out the Gillespie team score.

This match puts the Staunton boys golf team record at 2-0.

Today, Aug. 24, the team will be at Litchfield CC for a quad match and Tuesday, Aug. 30, they have another quad match at Rolling Hills. Their next home match at Timber Lakes is set for Sept. 6 vs. Pana, Carlinville and Southwestern.
