Senior citizens met
August 24, 2022
The Staunton Senior Citizen meeting on Aug. 18 was called to order by President Gerry Cook. There were 31 members in attendance who said the Lord’s Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. There were three visitors of which two became new members. There were no card or prayer requests.
Leslie Vannoy, Regional Administrator of The Glenwood Supported Living Facility announced she was still trying to get someone to come and check everyone who wanted their blood pressure taken. It was decided to have him/her come to the Sept. 8 meeting and test from noon to 1 p.m. before the meeting starts.
Mary Lyons and Dennis Williams won the attendance prizes and Toni Janus and Beverly Williams were the winners of the Pot of Silver prizes. The meeting was adjourned and everyone enjoyed playing bingo called by Leslie Vannoy.
The next meeting will be held Sept. 8 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 225 S. Laurel St., in Staunton. It will start at 1 p.m. and all seniors in the area are welcome to attend.
