The Staunton High School boys golf team won their first match of the season defeating Mt. Olive 162-232.

Preston Denney was the match medalist with his round of 37 on the par 36 course. Coming in second lowest for the Bulldogs was Broc Best with his 38. Other Staunton team scores were Luke DeWitt 42 and Adam Overby 45.

Blaine Dickerson was the team medalist for Mt. Olive with a 42.

The Staunton boys will be back at Timber Lakes on Friday, Aug. 19, when they host a match vs. Litchfield, Auburn, and Gillespie.
