Mary Elizabeth Kuruc, 85, of Gillespie, Ill., died at Heritage Health of Gillespie on Monday, Aug. 8, 2022. She was born April 2, 1937, to William and Clara Pettit Keith. She married Ronald Kuruc on Dec. 20, 1969, in Carlinville. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2021.

She was a supervisor for the Secretary of State, State Police Division.

She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Carey of Gillespie, Jackie (Pat) McKinney of Gillespie; grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Manley, Lindsay (Matt) Koniak, Justin (Megan) McKinney, Steven Carey, Michael (Steve) Carey, Neil McKinney, Bryce McKinney; and four great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patty Brown; and son-in-law, Kim Carey.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 11, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Gillespie.
