The annual Streetfest was held by Staunton merchants over the weekend. The annual Staunton car show topped off the event on Sunday.

A daughter was born to Simon and Tricia Hannig of Springfield on July 31 at St. John’s Hospital.

A daughter was born to John and Laura Deininger of Worden on July 21.

Steve “Pete” and Lois (Phillips) Vazzi of Worden will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 15.

Frank and Barbara (Bertoldi) Smiley of Williamson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniverary on Aug. 16.

Angela J. Baum (65) of Staunton died Aug. 2 at Community Memorial Hospital.

Sherry M. Nickles (44) of Gillespie died July 28 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

William Paul Hayes (34) of Staunton died Aug. 4 at Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton.

Audrey Jane Vesper (72) of Edwardsville died Aug. 4 at her home.

Susie Campbell of Dorchester was named as the new CEO of Community Memorial Hospital.

Joyce Gwillim of Staunton was charged with two counts of theft–aggravated possession of stolen firearms and theft over $300–for allegedly stealing from the elderly man for whom she was caretaker.

Rachel Lowe from Albequerque, N.M., and Joshua Jones of Livingston were married in Hawaii.
