Gilbert Ray Wayman, 73, of Staunton, Ill., died at his residence on Saturday, July 9, 2022. He was born on Aug. 7, 1948, in Carlinville, a son of Gilbert and Gladys (Scoggins) Wayman. He married Anita Helm on Nov. 26, 1966, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton, and she survives.

He was retired as Chief Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force, 1978-2000. He was a union carpenter with Local #725 in Litchfield. He worked as a civil engineer supervisor at General Services Administration in St. Louis, Mo., from 1982 to 2008. He was a lifetime member of Staunton Masonic Lodge #177 A.F....
