Senior citizens held meeting

The meeting on July 7 was brought to order by President Gerry Cook. The 25 members in attendance said the Lord’s Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. We had one visitor, Norma Albright. The minutes and treasurer’s report were read and approved. It was announced that the $5 dues for the year will be due the first meeting in August. There were no card requests. In the election of officers it was voted on and approved that the officers will be president-Gerry Cook, vice president-Bev Williams, secretary-Vicki Pryor, and treasurer-Toni Janus. They will take over for the next year the first meeting in August, as that is the next business meeting.
Attendance prizes, Pot of Silver and donated prizes were given out. Regional Administrator Leslie Vannoy was on vacation so bingo was called by secretary Judy Hampton. The next meeting will be on July 28 at St. Paul United Church of Christ located at 225 S. Laurel St. in Staunton. It will start at 1 p.m. All seniors in the area are welcome to join us.
