Phyllis (nee Smith) Pollo, 89, formerly of Benld, Ill., died at Heritage Health in Litchfield on Thursday, June 23. Phyllis was born in Mill Spring, Mo., on Jan. 13, 1933, a daughter of the late Edward and Mabel (Price) Smith. She married Joseph Pollo on June 26, 1954, in Staunton. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Brian (Kathy) Pollo of Mt. Olive and Mark (Tammy) Pollo of St. Jacob; one grandchild, Renee (Ramey) Schuker of St. Charles, Mo .; stepsister, Joyce (Bob) Fernandes of Springfield; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Pollo; infant son, Randall Pollo; grandchild, David Ramey; and stepbrother, John Wiersma.

A private graveside service will be held on July 22 with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton.
