Brianna Kruse wins FFA state public speaking

After winning the Section 15 and District 3 competitions, Staunton FFA member Brianna Kruse competed on June 14 in the Illinois FFA State Creed Speaking Finals at the State FFA Convention in Springfield.

Participants present the FFA Creed from memory and answer questions about its meaning and purpose. The event boosts students' self-confidence and develops their abilities to communicate in a powerful, professional manner. Brianna was named the top Creed Speaker in Illinois and will advance to the National FFA competition this fall. Brianna is the daughter of John and Julie Kruse of Staunton and will be a freshman at Staunton High School this fall.

More than 23,000 students are enrolled in 354 different FFA chapters in Illinois. FFA is a national youth organization of 735,038 student members with a mission of making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
