Mary O. Cox, 89, of Benld, Ill., died at her residence on Monday, May 23, 2022. She was born April 26, 1933, in St. Louis, Mo., to Wick and Clara (Miller) Seeba. She married James E. Cox, Sr., on Nov. 3, 1951, in Granite City, Ill. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2020.

She was an operator for Nestle Tea in Granite City.

She is survived by her two sons, James "Jimbo" (Linda) Cox, Jr., of Mt. Olive, Rodney (Tammy) Cox of Mt. Olive; daughter, Chrissy Cox of Benld; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Debbie Waugh; brother, Wick; and two sisters, Loretta and Betty.

A graveside service was held on Thursday, May 26, at the Gillespie City Cemetery.
