Staunton Police Officer Andy Pingolt was attacked May 19 by a pit bull that was running loose. Pingolt was notifying the owners when the dog bit him in the face. He required 40 stitches.

Mack and Elaine Libbra of rural New Douglas will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 1.
