Donnie R. Johnson (44) of Livingston died May 10 at the Litchfield Health Center.

Ernest Thery Jr. of Wonder Lake, formerly of Livingston and Staunton, died May 8 at his home.

Freda L. Reis (78) of Benld died May 7 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Elizabeth “Liz” Margaret Brabec (80) of Mt. Olive died May 9 at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

Elmer H. Johnson (76) of Hillsboro died May 11 at Hillsboro Hospital.

Katherine Meyer (79) of Barnhart, Mo., formerly of Staunton, died May 11 at Westview Nursing Center in Herculaneum, Mo.

Two new aldermen, Bronson Painter and Robert Schwandner, were sworn in to begin their terms on the city council.

Stefanie Legendre and Chris Tingle are new members of the CUSD #6 Board of Education.

A daughter was born to Daniel Deren and Sandra Shimchick of Litchfield on March 23.
