William E. Myatt, 81, of Maryville, Ill., died at Elmwood Nursing and Rehab in Maryville on Monday, May 9, 2022. He was born Sept. 13, 1940, in Bunker Hill to James Lee and Alta Marie (Wooldridge) Myatt. He married Shirley May Spinner, and she survives.

He was retired after having been a construction superintendent. William was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1958 to 1962.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Myatt of Maryville; daughters, Kim Myatt of Maryville, Tammy (Rick) Masters of Collinsville; grandchildren, Kevin (Katie) Buckingham of Edwardsville, Ashley (Andy) Kerr of Ohio; great-grandchildren, Blake Buckingham, Bella Rose Buckingham, Locklyn Kerr, Rowan Kerr; siblings, Deanna "De" (John) Smith of Bunker Hill, and Nancy (Mike) Edmiaston of Bethalto. William was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel Myatt; daughter, Susan Myatt; brother, Don Myatt; and sister, Pat Blanton.

Private family services will be held.
