Staunton Star - Times - Published in the Interest of the Staunton Community for Over 143 Years

On Wednesday, May 11, Community Hospital of Staunton honored Bernice Henke with the ground breaking of the Bernice Henke patio. The new patio will be a relaxing place for employees and visitors to enjoy a break.

Bernice's entire nursing career was at Community Hospital of Staunton. She was the director of nursing and retired in 2000. She continued to serve CHS as the secretary of the board of trustees from November 2002 to April 2022. Everyone at the hospital is so thankful for Bernice and her countless contributions to CHS.

Community Hospital of Staunton CEO Sue Campbell and Bernice Henke held a groundbreaking ceremony to get things underway on the new patio being built in Bernice's honor.
