Softball Lady Bulldogs add three wins

Lady Bulldogs soak up the sunshine and enjoy their conference win 10-4 over Southwestern.

The Staunton High School Lady Bulldogs softball team had a great week as they added 3 wins to their season record.

On Monday, April 25, the girls defeated North Mac 15-4.

Sta. 1- 0- 3- 0- 4- 4- 3=15

N.Mac .....1- 3- 0- 0- 0- 0- 0 = 4

Staunton runs were scored by Savannah Billings 3, Taylor Nolan 3, Koral Keehner 3, Ele Feldmann 2, Kylie Lucykow, Evin Frank, Whitney Weller and Korryn Keehner, 1 each.

The girls had 20 hits, led by Nolan with 5 hits and 4 RBIs. Other hits/RBIs were by Koral Keehner 3/0, S. Billings 3/1, Feldmann 3/1, Korryn Keehner 1/3, Bandy 2/2, Weller 2/2, and Frank 1/0. Weller, Billings and Nolan each had a home run.

Gianna Bianco pitched 3 innings,struck out 4, walked 1, gave up 5 hits and 4 runs (2 earned). Billings pitched 3.2 innings. She faced 13 batters, struck out 1, walked none, gave up 1 hit and 0 runs.

On Tuesday, April 26, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Litchfield 15-0 in a 5-inning game.

Staunton runs/hits/RBIs were by Nolan 3/2/1, Koral Keehner, 3/1/3, Billings 2/1/0, Feldmann 2/2/4, Lucykow 2/1/0, Bandy 1/2/2, Weller 1/2/0, Frank 1/1/1, Korryn Keehner 0/1/1, and Mckenzie Wofford 0/1/1.

Ele Feldman pitched the shutout. She struck out 4, walked 1 and gave up 2 hits.

On April 27, Staunton defeated Southwestern 10-4.

Home run hitters against North Mac this week were (L to R) Taylor Nolan, Whitney Weller, and Savannah Billings.

Staunton runs were scored by Weller 3, Billings 2, Lucykow, Frank, Feldmann, Nolan and Koral Keehner 1 ea. Hits/RBIs were by Billings 3/2 including a triple and home run; Bandy 2/1, Lucykow 1/1, Frank 1/0, Feldmann 1/0, Weller 1/1 (a home run),Nolan 1/1, Koral Keenher 1/2 (a triple).

Billings and Nolan shared pitching duties. Billings pitched 3.2 innings, faced 17 batters, struck out 3, walked 3, gave up 2 hits and 1 run. Nolan pitched 3.1 innings, faced 15 batters, struck out 2 walked 4, gave up 1 hit and 3 runs.

After the Southwestern game, the Lady Bulldogs season record was 12-2.

This week, they are scheduled to play at Hillsboro on Monday, Carlinville on Tuesday and home Wednesday, May 4, vs. Gillespie. Thursday, May 5, they are home vs. Civic Memorial (Bethalto), May 11 home vs. Northwestern and May 12 home vs. Bunker Hill.
