Iola “Poogie” Lucille Dudley, 89, of Livingston, Ill., died on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Heritage Health of Staunton. She was born on Saturday, Dec. 17, 1932, in Sorento, the daughter of Joseph and Bertha (VanLeuwen) Bilyeu. She married Lemar “Ging” Dudley on Nov. 11, 1951, in East St. Louis. Ging preceded Poogie in death on Nov. 21, 2010.

Iola was a homemaker and also worked as a waitress at the Ideal Café, Kendon’s Restaurant and Slifka’s Tavern. Poogie loved line dancing, bowling, and was a member of the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carol (Rodney) Eilert of Kelso, Mo., and Tara (Ken) Schoen of Livingston; one son, Miles Dudley (partner Mark Koesterer), of Glen Carbon; six grandchildren, Hollie (Randy)Yoder of Staunton, Bradley (Wendy) Schoen of Staunton, Valarie (Brian) Hulshof of Scott City, Mo., Emily (Christopher) Johnson of Manassas, Va., Brandon Dudley (Mackenzie Dix) of Quechee, Vt., and Lauren (Chad) Hill of St. Charles, Mo .; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Bernean Lovejoy; many nieces and nephews, and a special niece, Marcia (Dudley) Miller who spent many hours taking care of Aunt Iola. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; three brothers, Paul, Randall, and Victor Bilyeu; sisters-in-law, Wanda Bilyeu, Virginia Bilyeu; and brother-in-law, Leonard Lovejoy.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 3, at Lesicko Funeral Home in Livingston. Rev. Heath R. Curtis, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden, officiated the burial at Spangle Cemetery located near Livingston.
