Matthew is the son of Brian and Julie Sievers. While in high school, Matthew was a member of the band all four years. He was also a four-year member of the soccer team, being named to the third team All Conference his junior year, First Team All Conference his senior year, and served as co-captain his senior year. Matthew also played baseball all four years and was named a co-captain this season. He was a member of the basketball team his sophomore year. This year Matthew was a member of the Homecoming Court. All four years, Matthew earned an academic letter and honor roll. During his junior and senior year, he also worked part-time at Sievers Equipment.

After graduation, Matthew plans to attend a four-year university. His area of study is currently undecided.
