John Pfalzgraf of Staunton donated his winnings from U.S. Steel's Volunteer of The Year Award to the Staunton Fire Department.

Pfalzgraf volunteers for the Staunton Boy Scout Troop and has done so for the past 12 years. In 2021 he volunteered over 670 hours. Through his work program at U.S. Steel he was nominated as a finalist for volunteer of the year. He was recognized as one of the top volunteers throughout all of the U.S. Steel Corporation.
