Carol Helen Pinson, 81, of Benld, Ill., died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese on Saturday, April 2, 2022. She was born July 22, 1940, in Carlinville, to Charles and Helen (Bradford) Rutherford. She married Homer Gene Pinson on Sept. 20, 1958, in Alton. He preceded her in death in April 2019.

She was owner of Shaklee Distributors for 40 years. Carol was a former member of the bell choir of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Hamel and the ladies auxiliary of American Legion Post 564 of Worden.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Kristine) Pinson of Worden, Michelle Whitehead of Decatur, Martin (Cindy) Pinson of St. Louis, Mo., Melissa (Tim) Trame of Breese; grandchildren, Alyssa, Ashton, Wyatt, Jacob, Rachel, Blake, Taylor, Brett; siblings, Sandy (Bob) Brueggeman of Plainview, Charles "Boots" (Bev) Rutherford of Meadowbrook, T.J. (Denise) Rutherford of Carterville, Penny (Clay) Wilson of Bluff City, and Curt Rutherford of Benld. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Carl Rutherford; and sisters, Judy Boden and Janice Gunning.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
