SHS Varsity Bulldogs are ready for their season home opener. Go Dogs!

On Monday, March 14, the Dogs opened up their season at home vs. Nokomis, losing 2-5, and giving up 4 unearned runs on 6 errors. The dogs put up 6 hits by Sam Best, Adam Overby, Luke Meyer, Matthew Sievers, Cole Sternickle and Cody Ury having 1 hit each. Luke Meyer pitched well in the opener giving up 4 hits, striking out 5 and only allowing 1 earned run in 3.0 innings. Sam Best finished the last 4.0 innings. He gave up 3 hits, 0 runs and struck out 5.

The Bulldogs rush out to home plate to celebrate #14 senior Cayden Silvester's second home run in the shutout 12-0 win over Bunker Hill.

On Wednesday, March 16, the Dogs went to Bunker Hill and played brilliantly, winning 12-0 and giving first-year coach, Danny Scroggins, his first career victory. Cayden Silvester threw a no-hit shutout 4.2 innings with 8 K's and 5 BB. Cody Ury came in and finished the 1.1 innings, allowing 0 hits, 0 runs, 2 BB and 2 K's. Not only did Silvester throw a great game, he had a great night at the plate as well. Going 3-4 with a double and 2 home runs bringing in 4 of the Dogs' 12 runs. Adding to the Dogs' hits were Sam Best (3), Cody Ury (1), Luke Meyer (2), Dillon Pritchett (1), Matthew Sievers (1), Brady Gillen (1), Preston Denny (1) and Adam Overby (1).

The Dogs have a busy next week and a half, playing 8 out of the next 10 days. With home games on March 23 and 24.
