Cynthia L. Wilson, 81, of Livingston, Ill., died on Monday, March 14, 2022, at the home of her daughter Julie in Staunton. She was born on, June 14, 1940, in Staunton, the daughter of Walter E. and Loris C. (Becker) Benardin. She married John C. Wilson on March 21, 1958, in Chicago. He preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 2000.

Cynthia worked as an activity director for several area nursing homes, and at the time she even took her beloved dog Rufus to work with her. She enjoyed attending Elvis tribute artist concerts. Cynthia was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Livingston where she, for many years, was their organist.

She is survived by her three daughters, Gayle (Jared) Jones of Livingston, Sandra (Randall) Strohmeier of Bethalto, Julie (Michael) Goble of Staunton; five grandchildren, Joshua (Morgan) Jones of Corpus Christi, Texas, Darci Strohmeier of Moro, Macie Strohmeier (fiance Jake McDermott) of Ballwin, Mo., Katie (Dylan) Partridge of Niceville, Fla., Griffin Goble of Staunton; two sisters, Bettie (Jack) Augustine of Livingston, Gail (Larry) Scheller of Livingston; one brother, Larry Benardin of Williamson; sister-in-law, Ella Errant of Oak Lawn; and several nieces and nephews. Cynthia is also survived by her beloved dog Khloe.


Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, John W. Wilson; sister, Laurie (Benardin) Ferber; brother-in-law, Tom Ferber; sister-in-law: Sandie Benardin; mother-in-law, Ella Palozotto; and brother-in-law, Robert Errant.

Cynthia's family would like to mention that their mother was well taken care of by doctor, nurses, and staff with Heartland Hospice. They were of great help to Cynthia and her family. Thank you.

It was Cynthia's wish to be cremated with no funeral services.
