Joseph F. Dona, 93, of Gillespie, Ill., died at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022. He was born May 14, 1928, in Eagarville to William and Regina (Hoppe) Dona.

He was a truck driver. Joseph was a member of the Gillespie Fire Department, SS Simon and Jude Church and Teamsters.

He is survived by his daughter, Jan Dona of Gillespie; step-children, Penny Feeley of Gillespie, Nancy Harris (Dallas) of Gillespie and Amy Reid (Gary) of Gillespie; grandchildren, Rick Clark of Gillespie, Mike Clark (Jennifer) of Benld, and Tracy Paben (Luke) of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Cassie Montine, Dray Clark, Loralei Clark, Dawson Clark, Alex Clark and Michael Clark; 12 step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Joe Dona (Pat) of Williamsburg, Va. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Betty Stinnett Dona and Eloise Weller Dona; daughters, Susan Clark and Jody Dona; step-son, Kelly Don Heyen; brother, William Dona; and sisters, Marie Gnoth and Madeline Dona.

Friends may call on Friday, Feb. 11, at SS Simon & Jude Church in Gillespie from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at the church at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Gillespie.
