Lanida D. Frizzo, 83, of Godfrey, Ill., formerly of Staunton, died at River Crossing in Alton, on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022. She was born June 18, 1938, in Litchfield, the daughter of the late Lewis “Sally” and Belva (Coalson) Jacobs. She married Eugene Frizzo on June 16, 1962, at the 1st United Methodist Church in Staunton, and he survives.

She was employed as a kindergarten teacher at Niedringhaus School in Granite City for over 30 years. She was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church in Alton. She was also a member of the “Friends of Lovejoy” group to benefit the library at SIU-Edwardsville.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene Frizzo of Godfrey; one daughter, Lainee Frizzo of Kirkwood, Mo .; a grandson, Keegan Forrest of Kirkwood; a sister-in-law, JoAnn (Frizzo) Gibbs of Staunton; and two nephews.
