Thomas Dale Hubert, 78, of Benld, Ill., died at his residence on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022. He was born Oct. 16, 1943, in Carlinville, to Charles G. and Sue (Suchko) Hubert. He married Dona (Sandretto) Hubert on Feb. 11, 1967, in Gillespie. She survives.

He was a retired insulator for Shell Oil. He was a graduate of Benld High School Class of 1961. He was a former member of the Benld Fire Department and Litchfield Moose. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Gillespie where he also served on several committees. Thomas was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife, Dona Hubert of Benld; son, Brian (Amanda) Hubert of Springfield; grandchildren, Audrey, Benjamin, Caleb; and brothers, Chuck Hubert of Canada, Jerry (Carol) Hubert of Florida. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Nancy Hubert; and niece, Denise Merle.

Memorial services were held on Thursday, Jan. 20, at United Methodist Church of Gillespie.
