Pamela Sue Hayden, 65, of New Douglas, Ill., died on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, at her residence. She was born Jan. 31, 1956, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of the late Albert Sr. and Jeannette (Lipinski) Fischer. Pam and her husband Doug were together for 37 years. They were married on June 14, 2002, in Edwardsville.

Pam worked for Schnucks Stores as a union meat cutter for 18 years and was a member of the Meat Cutters UFCW Local 88 of St. Louis. She later worked as a cafeteria worker with the Highland School District for 10 years. Pam loved gardening, lawn work, boating, swimming, fishing, and beer drinking. She also loved her pets and animals, especially her dog Bandit and George the cat.

Pam is survived by her husband, Doug Hayden; two sisters, Mary Ellen (Steve) Sullivan, Jennifer Fischer; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth (William) Jackson, James and Madeline Sullivan, and Kayle Scalise; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Albert H. Fischer Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. at the New Douglas Community Center with Rev. Fr. Thomas Hagstrom officiating. The service will immediately be followed by a Celebration of Life for Pam that will include food and drink.
