The annual Macoupin County Basketball Tournament will held Jan. 17 through Jan. 20 in Gillespie. The boys and girls tournaments will be played simultaneously. Most games, including the championship games, will be played at Gillespie High School (GHS) but some games will be played at the Benld Elementary gym (BES).Boys Schedule
North Mac is the #1 seed and receive a first round bye. Other teams include #2 Mt. Olive, #3 Piasa SW, #4 Bunker Hill, #5 Carlinville, #6 Gillespie, and #7 Staunton.
Jan. 17 at GHS
Game 1: 4:30 p.m. Mt. Olive vs Staunton
Game 3: 6:00 p.m. Piasa SW vs Gillespie
Game 5: 7:30 p.m. Bunker Hill vs Carlinville
Jan. 19, at GHS
Game 10: Losers from games 1 & 3 play at 4:30 p.m.
Game 11: North Mac plays the winner of Game 5 at 6 p.m.
Game 12: Winners from Games 1 and 3 play at 7:30 p.m.
Jan. 20 - GHS & BES
Game 15 (at BES): Winner from Game 10 and loser from game 5 play for 5th place.
Game 16 (at GHS): Losers from Games 11 & 12 play at 7:30 p.m. for 3rd place.
Jan. 21 - GHS
Championship Round
Boys Championship Game will have winners from Games 11 and 12 play at 7:30 p.m. for the tournament championship
Girls Schedule
The Staunton Lady Bulldogs are the #1 seed and get a first round bye. Other teams include #2 Carlinville, #3 Gillespie, #4 North Mac, #5 Piasa SW, #6 Bunker Hill and #7 Mt. Olive.

Game 2: 4:30 p.m. Carlinville vs Mt. Olive;
Game 4: 6 p.m. Gillespie vs Bunker Hill;

Jan. 18 at GHS
Game 7: Losers from Games 2 and 4 play at 4:30 p.m.
Game 8: Staunton plays the winner of Game 6 at 6 p.m.
Game 9: Winners from Games 2 and 4 play at 7:30 p.m.
Jan. 20 (GHS & BES)
Game 13 (at GHS): Losers from games 8 and 9 play for 3rd place at 6 p.m.32
Game 14 (at BES): Winner of Game 7 plays Loser of Game 6 for 5th place at 6 p.m.
Jan. 21- GHS
Championship Round
Girls Championship game will have winners from Games 8 and 9 play for the Tournament Championship at 6 p.m..
