Bulldogs place 7th at Carlinville

Head Coach Ty Laux goes over the next play with his Bulldogs during a time out during the Carlinville Holiday Tournament played Dec. 27-30. The Dogs lost to EAWR 57-50, lost to Hillsboro 51-40, lost to Gillespie 46-44, and beat Calhoun 54-31.

The Staunton High School boys basketball team competed in the Carlinville Holiday Tournament last week.

On opening day, Monday, Dec. 27, the Bulldogs lost the East Alton/Wood River Oilers 57-50.

Following their afternoon game on Monday, the Bulldogs returned to Carlinville on Tuesday, Dec. 28, for a 7:30 p.m. game vs Hillsboro. The Hiltoppers won this game 51-40.

Hillsboro 13 -21 -10 - 7 = 51

Staunton 2 -15 - 14 - 9 = 40

The Bulldogs lost a close one to Gillespie (44-46) on Dec. 29.
