Genevieve C Shuey, 96, of Gillespie, Ill., died at Heritage Health of Gillespie, on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021. She was born April 2, 1925, in Gillespie, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Ross) Dunn. She married Donald R. Shuey on Jan. 15, 1949, in Gillespie. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2004.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Gerald) Brand of Litchfield; sons, Donald (Debbie) Shuey of Mt. Olive, Randall (Terry) Shuey of Springfield; grandchildren, David (Tylena) Brand of Decatur, Sunni Shuey of Benld; great-grandchildren, Gavin Brand, Kambrea Brand, Jase Brand, and Lila Shuey. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Heidi Brand; brothers, Joseph Dunn, Walter Dunn, Ross Dunn; and sisters, Betty Bray and Marge Grandone.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery in Gillespie.
