Persons are considered innocent until proven guilty. In criminal actions, the person has been charged by a law enforcement agency but is entitled to a hearing or trial to argue his innocence.

Court

• Jesse J. Shirley, 24, Virden, faces misdemeanor charges of domestic battery for allegedly causing bodily harm to his girlfiend on Dec. 19.

• Cecil A. Parr, 37, Shipman, faces charges of domestic battery and criminal damage to property for allegedly striking a household member in the face and damaging her cell phone on Dec. 22.

Traffic Court

• Kenneth R. Diesselhorst, 32, Staunton, was cited for driving under the influence at 8:10 p.m. on Dec. 17, on E. Pearl Street in Staunton.

• Dominique M. Lyerla, 18, of Dorsey, was cited for driving under the influence and illegal transfer, possession, or purchase of alcohol by a minor at 8:39 p.m. on Dec. 18, on IL. Rte. 169 in Bunker Hill Township.

• Benjamin S. Burgett, 19, Glen Carbon, was cited for illegal transfer, possession, or purchase of alcohol by a minor at 8:39 p.m. on Dec. 18 on IL. Rte 159 in Bunker Hill Township.

• James H. Thomas, 61, Rockford, was charged with driving while license is revoked on Nov. 21 on I-55 in Macoupin County.
