Sandra Dragovich, 85, died on Thursday, Nov. 25, at 7:30 a.m. at her home in Gillespie, Ill. Sandra was born on May 30, 1936, in Litchfield, to Michael John and Julia Holesko. She married Charles Dragovich on Feb. 11, 1956, in Springfield, and in 2021, they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

She was baptized and received her first communion and confirmation at SS Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Gillespie. Sandra was a loan officer at the 1st National Bank of Mt. Olive and vice president and loan officer of the loan department at the People's State Bank in Gillespie. She volunteered at Heritage Manor Nursing Home and was a member of St. Simon and Jude Altar Society. She loved playing pinochle, cooking and baking her famous "GiGi Cookies." Her special friends were Karen and Richard Heyen.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Dragovich; a daughter, Julie (David) Hausner; a son, Charles M. Dragovich (David Silva); a granddaughter, Kristen (Tim) York; her grandson, Ryan (Kelly) Fischer; two great-grandchildren, Mia and Landon York; and a brother, George (Jean) Holesko.

A memorial mass will be scheduled for a later date.
